Daimler Trucks donates 20 FUSO Canter trucks for aid operations in Haiti’s earthquake region

Stuttgart – Daimler Trucks is supporting the people of Haiti, the Caribbean island that has been hard-hit by the recent earthquakes, by promptly sending them 20 FUSO Canter trucks worth over half a million euros. The trucks were handed over to the Haiti aid initiative of former US President Bill Clinton. Clinton had already presented this project last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Daimler Trucks Sells 500th Hybrid Truck from Mitsubishi Fuso in Japan

Daimler AG releases 2008 financial results

The decrease in Group EBIT was mainly the result of expenses totaling €3,228 million related to the investment in Chrysler and the lower earnings achieved by Mercedes-Benz Cars. Daimler Trucks did not achieve its prior-year earnings, primarily due to the difficult economic situation in the United States and expenses incurred for the repositioning of its activities in the NAFTA region. The development of earnings was positive at Daimler Financial Services and the Mercedes-Benz Vans and Daimler Buses units.

SMS hoax aimed at Mercedes-Benz customers

It has come to the attention of Mercedes-Benz South Africa that a 'competition' is running whereby people receive an SMS saying that they have won a Mercedes-Benz car. The SMS states that, before the car is delivered, they must pay $200 for custom fees into a specific account.

Mercedes-Benz South Africa would not provide customer details to other parties and all people receiving such an SMS are advised not to give out any personal information to anyone and to treat the matter as a hoax. Any SMS message informing a person of having won a prize vehicle, is in no way associated with Mercedes-Benz South Africa or its affiliated companies.

Actros SLT takes space shuttle move in its stride

Not long ago, in the port of Rotterdam, a crane hoisted the BURAN onto a sixteen-axle low-bed trailer with a Mercedes-Benz Actros SLT 4160 8x6/4 heavy-duty tractor unit, which had previously been placed on a pontoon barge. Stuttgart/Bucharest – The Romanian bus operator Regia Autonoma de Transport Bucuresti (R.A.T.B) and the DaimlerChrysler subsidiary EvoBus GmbH signed a contract in mid-September 2007 for the delivery of a second batch of 500 urban buses for the city of Bucharest. DaimlerChrysler announces key financial figures for 2000

Stuttgart/Auburn Hills - Revenues of DaimlerChrysler Group for the full year of 2000 grew by 8 % to - 162.4 bn., calculated on a comparable basis the increase was 12 %.
Operating profit for the full year including one-time effects decreased 11% to - 9.8 bn. while net income increased significantly by 37% to - 7.9 bn. and earnings per share rose from - 5.73 to - 7.87.
The company announced the key financials figures following a Board of Management meeting, at which the financial statements for 2000 were approved.
