Our People

With some 4 500 employees in its three operating locations, DCSA believes in developing its workforce to be multi-skilled and flexible. The company subscribes fully to the principles of employment equity and submits detailed returns to the South African Department of Labour on progress made in this regard. DCSA further accords employees usual company benefits, including housing assistance and a bursary scheme. Strong emphasis is placed on the training and ongoing education of employees.

The company's East London Training Center, a registered technical college, provides apprenticeship training in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic engineering and currently has the highest pass rate in South Africa. The Training Center was responsible for coordinating the specialised Multiplicator training programme at the mentor Bremen plant in Germany for assemblers working on the new C-class. The W203 (right-hand drive C-class) production run-in was further supported by trainers from Bremen who travelled to East London to assist in the correct assembly process skills being transferred in an innovative "training islands" programme.

Recognised by DCAG as a global center, DCSA's Training Center in Zwartkop offers business-related courses primarily for sales and technical staff. The Center also provides training to staff and dealers throughout Africa and Asia.
